Local Government in New South Wales continues to progress its planning, evaluation and reporting processes in the key areas of asset management and financial management. Destination 2036 promotes long term planning and the integration of key planning processes within council to further support ongoing financial sustainability.
JRA has recently been asked to deliver a series of FAIR VALUE workshops for LGMA in New South Wales. These workshops will commence in April 2013 and further details are available on the LGMA NSW web site.
The workshops will support the further development of asset management, financial sustainability and long term planning capability and capacity.
JRA is currently working with FNQROC to prepare a series of strategic dashboards for key infrastructure assets. FNQROC is seeking to develop a regional perspective on the issues being faced with infrastructure funding and renewal planning and the dashboards greatly support this process

The City of Sydney is developing the capacity of its people, processes and systems to manage and plan the City’s infrastructure to enable Sydney to be one of the worlds great Cities.
DVC - Guidelines for Road Assets Condition
Guidelines for Measuring and Reporting the condition of Road Assets,
prepared for the Department of Victorian Communities. 2005/06.
The
adopted and published guidelines assist councils in valuation of
road assets in accordance with AASB116

FNQROC - Far North Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils
The Far North Queensland Regional Organisation of Councils are
working together to develop a regional asset management strategy and
a common approach to asset revaluation, Asset Management Plans and
Risk Management Plans.
All data for all asset groups has been loaded into a single asset
register to enable the development of Long Term Financial Plans for
Asset Management for the Region as well as for each individual
Council.
This project is being co ordinated by Darlene Irvine FNQROC

templates which aim to assist Councils to adopt the internationally
recognised IPWEA International Infrastructure Management Manual (IIMM)
for the preparation of their Asset Management Policy and
Infrastructure and Asset Management Plans.
